18/11/2009 - CARAVAN HOLIDAY HOME WHEEL NUT SAFETY CHECK

If you have any new non-sited Caravan Holiday Homes it is important that you read the following before attempting to move the homes.

After some recent issues with loose or missing wheel nuts on caravan holiday homes manufactured by us, we are urging all owners to not move the chassis or go underneath them until you have followed our guidance/safety check.

We have already taken extensive measures to physically check the tightness on many delivered chassis to avoid re-occurence, however as a further precaution, and as the wheel nuts supplied are the 'one shot' type, once the wheels have been removed these wheel nuts can no longer be used.

If any wheel nuts are outside of the tolerance detailed below, please immediately contact our Customer Services Liaison Verina Widdop, who will be happy to provide replacements on; 01964 545434 or email vwiddop@bankside-patterson.com.

VISUAL CHECK; As per this Photo , you should check that the wheel nut is tight to the bearing or one full thread showing (This equates to 3/4mm of clear thread).
